SYNOPSIS
Inspector Yuen (aka “Tequila”) has a mission to clean out gangsters from Hong Kong and sometimes his methods are unconventional in his furious drive to see justice done. Undercover cop Tony has the same determination to fight the war against the triads, even though he is forced to commit crimes to show faith to the underworld. Finally the two cops, both dedicated to the same ends but with different working styles, have to join forces in their ultimate battle against their maniac enemies.
DIRECTOR
John Woo
John Woo began his career as an assistant director at Shaw Brothers in Hong Kong in the 1970s. Soon after, he began working as a director for Golden Harvest. In 1986, Cinema City’s A Better Tomorrow (1986) became a hit, earning him both commercial and critical success. Since then, his distinctly unique and stylish films – including The Killer (1989), Bullet in the Head (1990) and Hard Boiled (1992) – earned him loyal fans both at home and abroad. In 1993, Woo broke into Hollywood, directing Face/Off (1997), Mission: Impossible 2 (2000) and other global blockbusters. He returned to Chinese cinema a decade ago with Red Cliff (2008), The Crossing (2014) and Manhunt (2017).
