Every second of every day, from the moment he was born, for the last 30 years, Truman Burbank has been the unwitting star of the longest running, most popular documentary soap opera in history. The picture perfect town of Seahaven which he calls home is actually a gigantic soundstage. Truman’s friends and family – everyone he meets, in fact – are actors. He lives every moment under the unblinking gaze of hidden TV cameras. But Truman has the feeling he is being watched and determines to discover the truth about Seahaven.

Peter Weir

Legendary Australian director Peter Weir was born in Sydney and began his career making three short films before his first feature cult horror comedy The Cars That Ate Paris (1974). His first international success was Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975) and he followed that with a string of hits in Hollywood and in Australia such as The Last Wave (1977), Gallipolli (1981), The Year Of Living Dangerously (1983), Witness (1985), Dead Poets Society (1989), Green Card (1990), Fearless (1993), The Truman Show (1998) and Master And Commander: Far Side Of The World (2003). He has four directing Oscar nominations under his belt, as well as one for writing and one for producing.
